Which sportsbooks are recommended?

Sportsbooks to consider:

How much should I wager on each selection?

A common solution is to decide on a fixed, initial bankroll & then bet, say, 0.5 % of it at each opportunity. More advanced staking strategies such as a unit system [a function mapping the 'value' of a bet onto a discrete set, commonly {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}] or Kelly staking could of course be considered as well, in particular for the more experienced bettor.

How do I interpret the notifications & under what circumstances should I bet the selection?

Read the "Interpreting an alert"-sections in the overview to understand the basics of the information supplied in each notification. Then, to turn this information into actionable advice, the following rules of thumb [horse racing] may be helpful:

In an ideal world you'd have access to a complete picture of the Exchange Market Book [you're of course welcome to have a quick look at the Betfair order book after receiving a notification] combined with an ability to process such a book perfectly, but since that isn't very efficient in practice you'll have to come up with some kind of decision rule to determine whether you'll trust the price move or not.

Decision Rule I: If the traded volume is above 10 000 GPB, the spread below 6 % and the liquidity within a 15 % odds range greater than 1 000 GBP, the Betfair current price is considered to be the "true" price. Hence, under such circumstances, any sportsbook odds above the Betfair current price is bet without hesitation.

Decision Rule II: If the sportsbook odds deviates more than 15 % from the Betfair current price, the selection is always bet under the condition that there's more than 50 GBP in back liquidity within the 15 % range.

If you'd prefer following a fixed decision rule rather than inventing one yourself, go with Decision Rule II above.
